Being born into a mutli-national and multi-lingual family sealed my fate.

Soaked in the trill of Spanish and squealing with delight in Italian well before I absorbed left-brain-based English, I was a miniature, arm-flailing citizen of the world by the time I entered pre-school. My family then added Yiddish to the mix, which underscored my developing psychological imperative to connect people and places that are ostensibly disparate but essentially united.
